Judicial Yuan Organization Act Article 8
The Judicial Yuan shall be staffed with one secretary general, specially appointed, and one deputy secretary-general with a position ranking at grade-14 of selection rank. The secretary general serves under the order of the president, managing general affairs of the Judicial Yuan, while directing and supervising its staff; the deputy secretary-general serves under the order of the president and assists the secretary general in managing general affairs of the Judicial Yuan.

司法院置秘書長一人，特任；副秘書長一人，職務列簡任第十四職等。
秘書長承院長之命，處理本院事務，並指揮、監督所屬職員；副秘書長承院長之命，襄助秘書長處理本院事務。
