Enforcement Rules of the Physicians Act Article 18
The term “special reason” as stated in the proviso of Article 8, Paragraph 2 of the Act shall refer to any of the following circumstances that may affect a physician’s ability to fulfill continuing education requirements:1. Serious illness2. Childbirth, parental leave, and pregnancy-related medical leave3. Continuing education in a foreign country4. Directives, restrictions, and other measures imposed by the commander-in-chief of the Central Epidemic Command Center5. Other causes imposed by the central competent authority

本法第八條第二項但書所稱特殊理由，指有下列情形之一，致影響繼續教育積分之取得者：
一、罹患重大疾病。
二、分娩、育嬰、懷孕安胎休養。
三、出國進修。
四、中央流行疫情指揮中心成立期間，指揮官所為之指示、限制或其他措施。
五、其他經中央主管機關公告之事由。
