Diplomate Specialization and Examination Regulations Article 19
A specialist may, during the period from six months to one month before the expiration of the specialist certificate, apply to the central competent authority for renewal by submitting documentary proof that the conditions prescribed in Article 14, Paragraph 1, Subparagraph 5 have been met.If an applicant is unable to complete the renewal within the prescribed period due to a fail-ure to meet the renewal requirements, the applicant may request a deferred renewal by submitting a written explanation together with the necessary supporting documents to the central competent authority between one (1) and six (6) months prior to the expiration of their current certificate. Such application may be made only once. If the deferred renewal is approved, the applicant may complete the renewal application within one year from the date on which their specialist certificate expires.The central competent authority may commission a private professional organization or in-stitute to review specialist certificate renewal applications submitted under the preceding two paragraphs.

專科醫師得於其專科醫師證書有效期限屆至一個月前至六個月內，檢具符合第十四條第一項第五款規定條件之證明文件，向中央主管機關申請更新。
前項申請更新，因不符合申請更新之條件，致未能於期限內辦理者，得檢具書面理由及證明文件，於其專科醫師證書有效期限屆至一個月前至六個月內，向中央主管機關申請延期更新，並以一次為限；其延期更新經核准者，得於專科醫師證書有效期限屆至之日起一年內，補行申請。
中央主管機關得委託民間相關專業機構、團體辦理前二項專科醫師證書更新申請之審查。
