Diplomate Specialization and Examination Regulations Article 14
In conducting specialist examinations, the central competent authority shall prescribe spe-cialist examination principles, which shall include the following matters:1. Eligibility requirements for applying to take a specialist examination;2. Procedures and steps for conducting a specialist examination;3. Examination methods, subjects, scoring, and passing standards;4. The validity period of specialist certificates; and5. Conditions for renewal of specialist certificates and the duration of each renewalThe validity period of a specialist certificate and the duration of each renewal prescribed in Subparagraphs 4 and 5 of the preceding paragraph shall be no less than three (3) years and no more then six (6) years.The central competent authority may invite experts and scholars to form a specialist exami-nation panel to conduct the specialist examinations referred to in Paragraph 1.A person who, before the amendments to these Regulations took effect on April 30, 2026, completed training provided by a relevant medical association in the field of critical care medicine or infectious diseases and was issued a certificate by that association shall, after the amendments take effect, be recognized, in accordance with the specialist examination principles prescribed in Paragraph 1, as possessing the specialist qualification specified in Article 8, Subparagraph 24 or 25.

中央主管機關辦理專科醫師甄審，應訂定甄審原則，其內容包括下列事項：
一、申請專科醫師甄審之資格。
二、實施甄審之程序及步驟。
三、甄審方式、測驗科目、計分及合格標準。
四、專科醫師證書之有效期限。
五、專科醫師證書有效期限之更新條件及每次更新之期限。
前項第四款、第五款所定專科醫師證書有效期限及每次更新之期限，最短為三年，最長為六年。
第一項專科醫師甄審，中央主管機關得邀請專家學者組成甄審小組為之。
本辦法中華民國一百十五年四月三十日修正生效前，已經重症醫學、感染之相關醫學會所為訓練並核發之證書，於本辦法修正生效後，依第一項甄審原則，具有第八條第二十四款及第二十五款之專科醫師資格。
