Sand and Gravel Excavation Act Article 8

For excavation of sand and gravel within river areas, the Competent Authority of the Special Municipality or County (City) shall accept the applications for sand and gravel excavation and for river use concurrently, forward the application documents and drawings to the river management agency, and invite that agency to conduct a joint on-site investigation. Upon obtaining the river use permit issued by the river management agency, the Competent Authority of the Special Municipality or County (City) shall review the applications and forward the river use permit to the applicant.Where the water authority undertakes sand and gravel excavation, pursuant to the Water Act, in conjunction with river or reservoir dredging or river channel improvement, such excavation shall not be subject to the restrictions under this Act.
