Act Governing the Appointment of Educators Article 17
Associate professors shall possess one of the following qualifications:1. Hold doctoral degrees or the equivalent degree certificates, have engaged in the research work, specialized professions or functions related to the majored subjects for over four years, and have published specialized publications.2. Have held the position as assistant professors for over three years with outstanding performance, and have published specialized publications.

副教授應具有左列資格之一：
一、具有博士學位或其同等學歷證書，曾從事與所習學科有關之研究工作、專門職業或職務四年以上，並有專門著作者。
二、曾任助理教授三年以上，成績優良，並有專門著作者。
