Teacher Education Act Article 23
A teacher who has obtained a Teacher’s Certificate for teaching in remote or special districts and who is any one of the categories listed below may apply to the Central Competent Authority for a Teacher’s Certificate for teaching in general regions without being required to undertake the Teacher Qualification Assessment stipulated in the regulations:1.The person has continued to work in a teaching position and completed the Professional Education Courses that were held on a special-project basis between January 1, 2003 and May 4, 2007 by Teacher Education Universities coordinated by the Central Competent Authority.2.The person has worked in a teaching position for a cumulative total period of five years or more.

取得合格偏遠或特殊地區教師證書，並符合下列各款情形之一者，得報中央主管機關換發一般地區教師證書，免依規定參加教師資格檢定：
一、繼續擔任教職，並修畢由中央主管機關協調師資培育之大學，於中華民國九十二年一月一日至九十六年五月四日專案辦理之教育專業課程。
二、擔任教職累積五年以上。
