Standard for Installation of Fire Safety Devices based on Use and Occupancy Article 161
Refuge appliances shall be installed pursuant to the following provisions:1.They shall be installed at locations accessible in case of refuge.2.Proper distance shall be kept between them and protected stairs or other escape facilities.3.The opening used for refuge appliances shall be provided with safety construction.4.They shall be placed at openings at other times, or they may be placed at openings when necessary.5.Refuge appliances (except sliding rod, refuge cord and refuge bridge) located at openings shall be interleaved, and may not be in a line unless it doesn’t encumber refuge.

避難器具，依下列規定裝設：
一、設在避難時易於接近處。
二、與安全梯等避難逃生設施保持適當距離。
三、供避難器具使用之開口部，具有安全之構造。
四、避難器具平時裝設於開口部或必要時能迅即裝設於該開口部。
五、設置避難器具（滑杆、避難繩索及避難橋除外）之開口部，上下層應交錯配置，不得在同一垂直線上。
但在避難上無障礙者不在此限。
