Standards for Establishing Places for Manufacturing, Storing, Processing Public Hazardous Substances and Flammable Pressurized Gases, and Regulations on Safety Control of such Places Article 14

The reserved space with a width of 3m and above shall be reserved in the surroundings of any place for the manufacturing or general processing of the Six Materials; or 5m and above in cases where the quantity stored is 10 times and more the control quantity. This is not limited to places for the process of high flash point materials with an operating temperature of less than 100℃ that have a width of 3m and above reserved in the surroundings.If the place referred to in the preceding paragraph is provided with a fireproof wall that is higher than the roof, constructed from non-flammable materials, has two hours and more fire rate, and is separated from neighboring places effectively shall not be subject to the distance restrictions in the preceding paragraph should it fall in any of the following situations:1. Only manufactures or processes high flash point materials with operating temperatures of less than 100℃.2. Maintaining distances as required in the surroundings of the place badly interferes with operating procedures as operating processes are closely connected.General processing places with operation procedures, process quantities, and compartment structures in accordance with Article 15.1 shall not be subject to the provisions in the first paragraph.
