Regulations for Awarding Professional Medals by the Ministry of the Interior Article 9
The Interior Affairs Professional Medal shall be awarded to individuals who meet any of the following criteria in firefighting affairs:(1)Made significant contributions to the advancement of firefighting affairs.(2)Made significant contributions to disaster relief and emergency rescue by taking risks and performing duties with courage and dedication.(3)Made significant contributions to assisting in the promotion of firefighting affairs and in disaster relief and emergency rescue work.(4)Made significant contributions to the research and development of firefighting issues.(5)Made special or significant contributions to other matters related to firefighting affairs.Firefighters, except those with outstanding achievements, special circumstances, or recipients of the First Class Firefighting Medal, shall first apply for the Firefighting Medal.

對消防業務具有下列情形之一者，頒給內政專業獎章：
一、對消防業務之推展，具有重大貢獻。
二、對救災救護，冒險犯難，奮勇盡職，具有重大貢獻。
三、對協助消防業務之推展及救災、救護工作，具有重大貢獻。
四、對消防問題研究發展，具有重大貢獻。
五、對其他有關消防業務，具有特殊或重大貢獻。
消防人員除功績卓著、情形特殊或領有一等消防獎章者外，應先請頒消防獎章。
