Regulations for Awarding Professional Medals by the Ministry of the Interior Article 8
The Interior Affairs Professional Medal shall be awarded to individuals who meet any of the following criteria in police administration affairs:(1)Made significant contributions to the advancement of police administration affairs.(2)Made significant contributions to the promotion of international police liaison and cooperation.(3)Made significant contributions to public security by taking risks to solve major criminal cases.(4)Made significant contributions to the research and development of police administration issues.(5)Made special or significant contributions to other matters related to police administration affairs.Police officers, except those with outstanding achievements, special circumstances, or recipients of the First Class, Level One Police Medal, shall first apply for the Police Medal.

對警政業務具有下列情形之一者，頒給內政專業獎章：
一、對警政業務之推展，具有重大貢獻。
二、對促進國際間警政聯繫及合作，具有重大貢獻。
三、冒險犯難偵破重大刑案，對社會治安具有重大貢獻。
四、對警政問題研究發展，具有重大貢獻。
五、對其他有關警政業務，具有特殊或重大貢獻。
警察人員除功績卓著、情形特殊或領有一等一級警察獎章者外，應先請頒警察獎章。
