(The Establishment of District Courts)A district court shall be established in each municipality or county (city). However, depending upon the geographical environment and case load, branch courts of a district court may be added; or a joint branch court may be established; or a portion of its jurisdictional area may be transferred to another district court or its branch, without the restrictions of administrative divisions. As required by case load, professional district courts may be established in specific areas; matters such as the structure and jurisdiction of such courts shall be determined by law.

直轄市或縣（市）各設地方法院。
但得視其地理環境及案件多寡，增設地方法院分院；或合設地方法院；或將其轄區之一部劃歸其他地方法院或其分院，不受行政區劃限制。
在特定地區，因業務需要，得設專業地方法院；其組織及管轄等事項，以法律定之。
