Safety Standards for Protection against Ionizing Radiation Article 17
Paragraph 17.1The action being taken for emergency exposure shall be in compliance with one of the following conditions:1.for the purpose of saving lives or preventing serious injury;2.to avert a large amount of collective effective dose; or3.to prevent the development of catastrophic conditions.Paragraph 17.2The facility operator shall inform and train the personnel participating in emergency exposure in advance.
