Medal Award Act Article 8
The Merit Medal, Exemplar Medal, and Service Medal recommendations are to be submitted by each competent agency to its responsible authority for review and approval, and awarded by the Yuan' s Premier/President.Service Medal shall be submitted to the department of personnel administration for review and recording purposes.The Service Medal shall be awarded by the authorized agency, and the authorized yuan may enact the awarding related regulations.

功績獎章、楷模獎章、服務獎章，由各主管機關報請各該主管院核定，並由院長頒給之。
前項服務獎章，得授權由各主管機關核頒；其相關規定，由各主管院定之。
公務人員獲頒功績獎章、楷模獎章者，由主管院以副本送銓敘部登記；獲頒服務獎章者，由主管機關送銓敘部登記。
