Medal Award Act Article 4
A person shall be awarded the Exemplar Medal under one of the following conditions:1.A civil servant having acted in a specific way that serves as a model.2.A law-abiding citizen of good character having acted in a way with outstanding performance.3.A person having risked their own life in rescuing others from a major disaster in a way that serves as a model.4.Total disablement on duty reach the degree of the civil servants insurance disability compensation standards.5.Death caused by undertaking a dangerous duty.6.Other outstanding deeds that are worthy of note.

有下列情形之一者，頒給楷模獎章：
一、操守清廉，有具體事蹟，足資公教人員楷模。
二、奉公守法，品德優良，有特殊事蹟。
三、搶救重大災害，奮不顧身，有具體事實。
四、因執行職務受傷，達公教人員保險全失能標準。
五、因執行職務，以致死亡。
六、其他優良事蹟足資矜式。
