Regulations Governing Permission of Insurance Business Transactions and Investment Between the Taiwan Area and the Mainland Area Article 4
When a Taiwan-area insurance enterprise, insurance agent company, insurance broker company, or insurance surveyor company applies to establish a representative office, branch, or subsidiary or make an equity investment in Mainland Area shall obtain approval from the Competent Authority in accordance with these Regulations.The establishment of a branch or a subsidiary in Mainland Area or making equity investment in Mainland Area as referred to in the preceding paragraph shall in addition require applying to the Ministry of Economic Affairs for approval in accordance with the Act.

臺灣地區保險業、保險代理人公司、保險經紀人公司及保險公證人公司申請在大陸地區設立代表人辦事處、分公司、子公司或參股投資，應依本辦法報經主管機關許可。
前項所定在大陸地區設立分公司、子公司及參股投資事項，並應依本條例規定，向經濟部申請許可。
