Offshore Islands Development Act Article 15-1
To promote fast and convenient external transportation for residents of offshore islands, all charges for transportation between offshore islands and the main island of Taiwan shall be subsidized from the central government budget allocated for this purpose, and ticket subsidies shall not be less than 30 percent of ticket prices.Regulations for ticket subsidies as referred to in the preceding paragraph shall be drawn up by the Ministry of Transportation and Communications and submitted to the Executive Yuan for approval.

為促進離島地區居民對外交通便捷，凡與台灣本島間對外交通費用，應由中央政府編列預算補貼，如係補貼票價者，金額不得低於其票價百分之三十。
