Act of Human Rights Protection and Compensation for Hansen’s Disease Patients Article 3
The ways of compensation and protection provided in this Act are:1. Restoring reputation: including an open apology, paying tribute to the deceased, actively publicizing the correct knowledge about Hansen’s disease, and promoting social and educational policies that help restore the reputation of Hansen’s disease patients, etc.2. Offering compensatory payments.3. Medical rights: including the establishment of medical facilities and equipment that meet the special physical and mental needs of Hansen’s disease patients, allocation of sufficient medical and administrative manpower, as well as engaging in research and studies on the prevention of Hansen’s disease, etc.4. Rights to nursing services: including living subsidies, assistance in returning to the community and family, lifelong treatment and care, rehabilitation and nursing services, etc.Care-takers who accompanied the Hansen’s disease patients in the hospital for taking care of them before the implementation of this Act may also accompany the Hansen’s disease patients during the nursing care period.

本條例所定補償及保障方式如下：
一、回復名譽：包括公開道歉、追悼亡者、積極宣導正確漢生病知識及推動有助回復漢生病病患名譽之社會教育政策等措施。
二、給予補償金。
三、醫療權益：包括設置符合漢生病病患特殊身心狀況需求之醫療設施、設備，並配置充足之醫事與行政人力，及從事漢生病防治研究等措施。
四、安養權益：包括生活津貼、回歸社區與家庭之協助、終身治療與照護、復健及養護等措施；本條例施行前，為照顧漢生病病患而入住於院內之照護人，於該漢生病病患安養期間，得伴同居住。
