Senior Citizens Welfare Act Article 23
To support the elderly in maintaining their independence and improving their quality of life, municipal and county (city) competent authorities shall provide assistive device services either directly or in cooperation with private resources, including:1. Assessment and consultation for assistive devices.2. Provision of information regarding assistive devices, auxiliary daily necessities, and life-support facilities and equipment.3. Assistance in obtaining assistive devices for daily living.The fire authority shall provide fire safety education and consultation services for the elderly at home as prescribed in the preceding paragraph.The central competent authority may, as necessary, provide incentives for the research and development of assistive devices, supplies, and facilities required for elderly living.

為協助老人維持獨立生活之能力，增進生活品質，直轄市、縣（市）主管機關應自行或結合民間資源辦理輔具服務：
一、輔具之評估及諮詢。
二、提供有關輔具、輔助性之生活用品及生活設施設備之資訊。
三、協助老人取得生活輔具。
消防主管機關應提供前項老人居家消防安全宣導與諮詢。
中央主管機關得視需要獎勵研發老人生活所需之各項輔具、用品及生活設施設備。
