Regulations Governing Management of Designated Psychiatric Care Institutions Article 5
A designated psychiatric institution shall cooperate with the commission or designation of the Local Competent Authority, and provide the following services:1. Emergency placement, mandatory hospitalization, and mandatory community treatment of severely afflicted patients;2. Emergency handling of severely afflicted patients or other patients;3. Acceptance of patients sent in by the police or firefighting agencies;4. Acceptance of patients referred by other medical institutions; and5. Other services commissioned or designated by the Local Competent Authority.

指定精神醫療機構應配合地方主管機關之委託或指定，提供下列服務：
一、嚴重病人之緊急安置、強制住院及強制社區治療。
二、嚴重病人或病人之緊急處置。
三、接受由警察機關或消防機關護送就醫之病人。
四、接受由醫療機構轉送之病人。
五、其他地方主管機關委託或指定辦理之服務事項。
