Fisheries Act Article 54
For the purposes of assuring fishery safety and maintaining the orderly operation within fishing areas, the competent authority shall conduct the following matters:(1)Construction and maintenance of fishing ports and fisheries infrastructure.(2)Deployment of patrol fleets to perform the duties of salvage, patrol, and fishery protection.(3)Establishment of fisheries radio broadcasting stations.(4)Establishment of safety facilities such as beacons, sign poles, and weather forecasting systems.(5)Establishment of regulations on operating in fishing grounds and the operation of fishing vessels.(6)Requests to the Ministry of Defense and other authorities concerned for the necessary assistance and protection.

為保障漁業安全及維持漁區秩序，主管機關應辦理左列事項：
一、興建及維護漁港與漁業公共設施。
二、配置巡護船隊，實施救護、巡緝及護漁工作。
三、設置漁業通訊電臺。
四、設置信號臺、標識桿及氣象預報系統等安全設備。
五、訂定漁場及漁船作業應行遵守及注意事項。
六、應請國防部及有關單位給予必要之協助及保護。
