The Forestry Act Article 38-1
The central government agency shall determine the methods used to protect and manage forests, prevent disasters and carry out rescues; the equipment used in forest protection; all aspects of forest propagation; and the rewards for forest fire prevention.For national forests located within the traditional territories of Indigenous peoples, the central government agency shall make it a priority to provide guidance to Indigenous community development associations, related legal entities or Indigenous individuals regarding reforestation and forest protection. Such guidance and management measures will be decided by the central government agency and the central Indigenous authority.

森林之保護管理、災害防救、保林設施、防火宣導及獎勵之辦法，由中央主管機關定之。
國有林位於原住民族傳統領域土地者，有關造林、護林等業務之執行，應優先輔導當地之原住民族社區發展協會、法人團體或個人辦理，其輔導經營管理辦法，由中央主管機關會同中央原住民族主管機關定之。
