The certification of the FSTD’s qualifications are as follows:1. Initial Qualification: an evaluation conducted to verify the FSTD meets qualification performance standards (QPS) for applicable FSTD level.2. Upgrade Qualification: an evaluation conducted to verify the FSTD meets the qualification performance standards (QPS) of the higher FSTD level being applied for.3. Continuing Qualification: an evaluation conducted to verify the initial or upgrade FSTD continues to maintain its qualified performance of the applicable FSTD level.4. Supplemental Qualification: a special evaluation conducted to verify the modification of the FSTD meets the applicable QPS to increase the subject area of aircraft pilot training, checking or examination.

飛航模擬訓練設備檢定分類如下：
一、初始檢定：指為確定飛航模擬訓練設備性能等級時所執行之檢定。
二、升級檢定：指為飛航模擬訓練設備提升性能等級時所執行之檢定。
三、後續檢定：指為確定飛航模擬訓練設備維持初始或升級檢定時性能基準所執行之檢定。
四、附加檢定：指為擴增飛航模擬訓練設備之航空器駕駛員訓練、考驗或檢定課目範圍，所進行設備改裝之特別檢定。
一、初始檢定：指為確定飛航模擬訓練設備性能等級時所執行之檢定。
二、升級檢定：指為飛航模擬訓練設備提升性能等級時所執行之檢定。
三、後續檢定：指為確定飛航模擬訓練設備維持初始或升級檢定時性能基準所執行之檢定。
四、附加檢定：指為擴增飛航模擬訓練設備之航空器駕駛員訓練、考驗或檢定課目範圍，所進行設備改裝之特別檢定。
