Aids to Navigation Act Article 3
Terms used in this Act are defined as follows:(1)"Aid to Navigation" means any device intended to assist vessels in positioning and navigation when vessels are navigating the waters, including lighthouses, light buoys, buoys, floating piles, light poles, guideposts, radar beacons and other signs announced by the shipping administration authority.(2)"Waters" means navigable waters for vessels such as oceans, rivers, lakes and reservoirs.(3)"Notice to Mariner" means the navigation information released by the shipping administration authority regarding the addition, change of equipment, facilities, geography and hydrography or other matters affecting navigational safety in the waters of the Republic of China.(4)"Marine Facility" means the fixed artificial structure installed by a marine engineering project.

本條例用詞，定義如下：
一、航路標識：指供船舶航行於水域時，定位導航之助航設施，包括燈塔、燈浮標、浮標、浮樁、燈杆、標杆、雷達訊標及其他經航政機關公告之標識。
二、水域：指海洋、河川、湖泊、水庫等可供船舶航行之水面。
三、航船布告：指航政機關所發布，有關中華民國領域內設備、設施、地形、水文之新增、改變或其他危險信息之航行資訊服務。
四、海洋設施：指海域工程所設置之固定人工結構物。
