Railway Act Article 56-1
Railway institutions shall take responsibility for the construction, repair and maintenance of civil and architectural facilities, track facilities, security and protection equipment, telecommunication facilities, electrification facilities and station equipment, as well as the maintenance of railway cultural assets.Railway institutions shall provide barrier-free transportation service on actual demands and plan to install barrier-free facilities and equipment for convenient action and use by persons with disabilities.The rules of construction, repair, maintenance and other relevant matters of railway facilities and equipment refer to Paragraph 1, additional railway cultural assets conducted on related acts, shall be provided by the MOTC.

鐵路機構應負責鐵路之土木建築設施、軌道設施、保安與防護設備、電信設施、電力設施及車站設備之修建、養護，及鐵路文化資產之維護。
鐵路機構應依實際需求提供無障礙運輸服務，及規劃設置便於各類身心障礙者行動與使用之無障礙設施及設備。
第一項鐵路設施與設備之修建、養護及其他相關事項之規則，除鐵路文化資產依據有關法令規定辦理外，由交通部定之。
