The Weights and Measures Act Article 21
Under any of the following circumstances, a verified legal measuring instrument shall not be put to or made available for use in measuring operation:1. Where the verified legal measuring instrument has failed the inspection; 2. Where the verification mark becomes indiscernible or fell off without good cause shown; or3. Where additional equipment is attached to the verified legal measuring instrument to the extent sufficient to affect the measuring function of the said measuring instrument.Upon finding of any of the circumstances set forth in the preceding Paragraph, the dedicated weights and measures authority shall affix a suspension-from-use marking on the said measuring instrument.

經檢定合格之法定度量衡器，有下列情事之一者，不得為計量使用或備置：
一、經檢查不合格者。
二、檢定合格印證無法辨識或脫落而無正當理由者。
三、附加足以影響度量衡器量測功能之設備者。
度量衡專責機關發現前項情事時，應於該度量衡器為停止使用之標示。
