The Weights and Measures Act Article 12
A legal measuring instrument shall be marked or labeled with the legal units of measurement applicable to it, except for any of the following circumstances:1. Where the legal measuring instrument is provided for export only;2. Where the legal measuring instrument is provided as an accessory of an export product;3. Where the legal measuring instrument is provided for use by manufacturing premises of which the products are for export purpose;4. Where the legal measuring instrument is provided as an accessory of a machine or equipment being used by a manufacturing premise;5. Where the legal measuring instrument is required by an academic research and experiment institution; or6. Where the legal measuring instrument is required for use in national defense-related operations.

法定度量衡器，應標示法定度量衡單位。
但有下列情事之一者，不在此限：
一、專供外銷者。
二、供作外銷產品之配件者。
三、供製造外銷產品工廠所需者。
四、供製造工廠之機器設備所使用之配件者。
五、供學術研究試驗機構所需者。
六、供國防所需者。
但有下列情事之一者，不在此限：
一、專供外銷者。
二、供作外銷產品之配件者。
三、供製造外銷產品工廠所需者。
四、供製造工廠之機器設備所使用之配件者。
五、供學術研究試驗機構所需者。
六、供國防所需者。
