Detention Act Article 54
Where a defendant is injured or contracts a disease but refuses to accept medical treatment that his/her life may be in danger, the detention center shall immediately engage a doctor to provide treatment or send the defendant to a medical institution for treatment.The medical and transportation expenses for delivering the defendant to a medical institution for treatment in the preceding paragraph shall be borne solely by the defendant.A defendant being escorted to and treated at a medical institution specified in Paragraph 1 shall be regarded as under detention.

被告因受傷或罹患疾病，拒不就醫，致有生命危險之虞，看守所應即請醫師逕行救治或將被告逕送醫療機構治療。
前項逕送醫療機構治療之醫療及交通費用，由被告自行負擔。
第一項逕送醫療機構治療期間，視為在所羈押。
