Attorney Regulation Act Article 117
A foreign attorney shall not be permitted to practice law if:1. he/she falls under any of the circumstances listed in Paragraph 1 of Article 5 hereof;2. he/she has received a final criminal conviction for at least one-year imprisonment from the courts of the Mainland China, Hong Kong, Macau or other foreign countries; or3. his/her attorney license has been revoked or cancelled, or he/she has been otherwise disbarred as an attorney, or his/her period of suspension of legal practice has not expired in his/her home jurisdiction.

外國律師有下列情形之一者，不得許可其執業：
一、有第五條第一項各款情事之一。
二、曾受大陸地區、香港、澳門或外國法院有期徒刑一年以上刑之裁判確定。
三、受原資格國撤銷或廢止律師資格、除名處分或停止執業期間尚未屆滿。
