Enforcement Rules of Act Governing the Appointment of Educators Article 13-1

The “teaching and academic research experience equivalent to that required of a professor” referred to in Article 8 of the Act refers to meeting one of the following criteria:1. Have held a position as an adjunct professor in accordance with the Regulations Governing the Appointment of Part-time Teachers at Educational Institutions at Junior College Level and Higher; or held a position as a part-time or full-time professional technician at the professor level, in accordance with the Employment Regulations for Professional Technicians Teaching at Universities; or held a position as a part-time or full-time professional or technical teacher at the professor level, in accordance with the Regulations Governing the Selection and Appointment of Professional and Technical Teachers at Junior Colleges; or held a position as a research fellow, in accordance with the Regulations Governing Appointment of University Research Personnel.2. Have held a post as a chair professor, or been awarded the title honorary professor or professor emeritus, and engaged in relevant teaching or research work for eight years or longer after obtaining a doctorate or equivalent academic credential, and have produced innovations, inventions, or important academic writing, and made a significant contribution to teaching or academic research.3. Have held a position as a researcher or research technician at a public academic research institution; as a researcher at a research organization of a foundation or an administrative juristic person; or as a member of the research and development (R&D) personnel in an R&D department of a public or private sector enterprise or institution; and engaged in related teaching or research work for eight or more years, after obtaining a doctorate or equivalent academic credential, and have produced innovations, inventions, or important academic writing, and made a significant contribution to teaching or academic research.The “teaching and academic research experience equivalent to that required of an associate professor” referred to in Article 8 of the Act refers to meeting one of the following criteria:1. 本條例第八條所稱相當教授之教學、學術研究工作，指符合下列條件之一者：
一、依專科以上學校兼任教師聘任辦法擔任兼任教授、依大學聘任專業技術人員擔任教學辦法擔任專任或兼任教授級專業技術人員、依專科學校專業及技術教師遴聘辦法擔任專任或兼任教授級專業及技術教師、依大學研究人員聘任辦法擔任研究員。
