University Act Article 31

Universities may offer continuing education based on the principle of studying subjects or earning credits. However, any student who has earned the course credits stipulated by a department or graduate institute, passed examination and assessment with satisfactory results, and had passed the entrance examination may be awarded a degree in accordance with the provisions of the preceding paragraph.The implementation regulations governing the continuing education referred to in the preceding paragraph shall be prescribed by the Ministry of Education.

大學得辦理推廣教育，以修讀科目或學分為原則。
但修滿系、所規定學分，考核成績合格，並經入學考試合格者，得依前條規定，授予學位。
