Private School Act Article 70
If a private school encounters any of the following situations, the school legal person shall report to the competent authority of schools and shut down the school upon approval.1. Insurmountable obstacles have been encountered which prevent the school from achieving its objectives or continuing operations.2. Under the provisions of the Act, if the competent authority of schools sets a deadline for the school to make legal adjustments or improvements, and the school fails to do so by the deadline or the adjustments or improvements prove ineffective.In the aforementioned situations, if the school legal person fails to apply for approval from the competent authority of schools to shut down, the authority may, if necessary, order its shutdown after consulting the consultative committee of the said school.

私立學校有下列情形之一者，其學校法人應報經學校主管機關核定後停辦：
一、辦學目的有窒礙難行，或遭遇重大困難不能繼續辦理。
二、經學校主管機關依本法規定限期命其為適法之處置，或整頓改善，屆期未處置、改善，或處置、改善無效果。
前項情形，學校法人未自行申請學校主管機關核定停辦者，學校主管機關於必要時徵詢私立學校諮詢會意見後，得命其停辦。
