Regulations Governing Inspection Visits and Information Registration Article 5
For a national without household registration, an alien, a person of the Mainland Area, or a resident of Hong Kong or Macau, who stays continuously over 3 months on his/her visitor visa or with a residency or permanent residency permit, officers from the Agency shall conduct an inspection visit and complete registration within 1 month after the aforementioned person has stayed past the 3-month mark, obtained Alien Resident Certificate (ARC) or Alien Permanent Resident Certificate (APRC), or changed his/her registered address of residency or workplace.Additional inspection visits may be conducted by the Agency when needed, in addition to the visits specified in the previous paragraph.

移民署對在我國停留期間逾三個月、居留或永久居留之臺灣地區無戶籍國民、外國人、大陸地區人民、香港及澳門居民，應於其停留期間逾三個月、取得居留證、永久居留證或辦理居留住址、服務處所變更登記之日起一個月內執行查察登記。
移民署除依前項規定辦理外，亦得視實際需要，不定期執行查察登記。
