Police Personnel Management Act Article 11
The qualifications for the appointment of police officers are as follows:1. Those who have passed the police personnel examination.2. Those who have previously served as police officers and have been promoted or appointed in accordance with the law.3. Those who had served as a police officer before this Act came into force and have been qualified through examination and assessment in accordance with the law.In addition to the qualifications listed in the preceding paragraph, persons to be appointed to the position of the Police Superintendent Third Class or higher shall have graduated from or completed training at the Central Police University or Central Police College; persons to be appointed to the position of Police Superintendent Fourth Class or below shall have graduated from or completed training at the Central Police University, Central Police College, Taiwan Police College or Taiwan Police Academy.

警察官之任官資格如下：
一、警察人員考試及格者。
二、曾任警察官，經依法升官等任用者。
三、本條例施行前曾任警察官，依法銓敘合格者。
警察官之任用，除具備前項各款資格之一外，職務等階最高列警正三階以上，應經警察大學或警官學校畢業或訓練合格；職務等階最高列警正四階以下，應經警察大學、警官學校、警察專科學校或警察學校畢業或訓練合格。
