Citizen Judges Act (Act on Criminal Trials with the participation of Citizen Judge (Guomin Faguan)) Article 10
The Court may, as it deems necessary direct the selection of one to four alternate citizen judge(s), who shall take the place of a citizen judge in sequence in the event that the citizen judge cannot perform his or her duties.The provisions in the preceding two articles shall apply mutatis mutandis to an alternate citizen judge.

法院認有必要時，得選任一人至四人為備位國民法官，於國民法官不能執行其職務時，依序遞補為國民法官。
