Code of Civil Procedure Article 410
The mediation proceeding shall be conducted in a courtroom or, where necessary, at another appropriate place. The mediators shall obtain the judge's permission in order to conduct the mediation proceeding at another appropriate place.The mediation provided in the preceding paragraph may be conducted without being open to the public.
