Code of Civil Procedure Article 160
Except as fixed by the applicable law, the time period is to be designated in the discretion of the court or the presiding judge.The time period which is designated by the court or the presiding judge begins to run from the service of the paper bearing the designation of the period, or where no service is required, from the time when the decision designating the period is announced, except where another way of calculation is provided.

期間，除法定者外，由法院或審判長酌量情形定之。
法院或審判長所定期間，自送達定期間之文書時起算；無庸送達者，自宣示定期間之裁判時起算。
但別定起算方法者，不在此限。
