The Notary Act Article 63

If a civil notary is detained by authorities during a criminal investigation procedure, or serving imprisonment or detention pursuant to final criminal judgment, the civil notaries’ duty is ipso jure suspended.The Judicial Yuan may suspend civil notaries temporarily from their duties until the completion of disciplinary procedure, if the situation of their violation is serious.Article 50 shall apply mutatis mutandis to the situation that civil notaries are suspended from their duties according to the preceding two paragraphs.
中文原文 公證法第63條
民間之公證人依刑事訴訟程序被羈押，或依刑事確定判決，受拘役以上刑之宣告，在執行中者，其職務當然停止。
民間之公證人應受懲戒之事由情節重大者，司法院得在懲戒程序終結前，先行停止其職務。
民間之公證人依前二項規定停止其職務時，準用第五十條之規定。
