Civil notaries are appointed by the Judicial Yuan and perform notarial acts as mentioned under Article 2 of this Act.Regulations governing civil servants do not apply to these notaries mentioned in the preceding paragraph.

民間之公證人為司法院依本法遴任，從事第二條所定公證事務之人員。
有關公務人員人事法律之規定，於前項公證人不適用之。
