Indigenous Peoples Status Act Article 4
Non-indigenous individuals adopted by childless indigenous parents over the age of 40, and meet the following provisions, shall acquire indigenous status:1. Under the age of seven when adopted.2. Adopt or list in indigenous writing the traditional indigenous name of the indigenous group to which one of the adoptive parents belongs, or adopt the surname of one of the adoptive parents.Prior to the enactment of said act, the adoption of non-indigenous minors under the age of seven by childless indigenous parents is not subject to the age and childless status limitations in the preceding paragraph.

非原住民經年滿四十歲且無子女之原住民雙親共同收養，且符合下列各款規定者，取得原住民身分：
一、被收養時未滿七歲。

本法施行前，未滿七歲之非原住民為原住民父母收養者，不受前項雙親須年滿四十歲且無子女規定之限制。
