Negotiable Instruments Act Article 113
The maker of a protest shall deliver the original copy of the protest to the holder and shall also make a transcript of the full text of the protest to be kept at their place of business for use in case the original copy is destroyed or lost.A transcript of a protest has the same force and effect as the original.
