Enforcement Rules of the Act Governing Relations with Hong Kong and Macau Article 7
The term “those who obtained the status of overseas compatriots” as used in Paragraph 3 of Article 4 of the Act refers to persons who obtained overseas compatriot identity certificate issued by the Overseas Community Affairs Council.The Residents of Hong Kong or Macau who claim to have obtained the status of overseas compatriots referred to in the preceding paragraph shall provide the overseas compatriot identity certificate referred to in the preceding paragraph, and the relevant authorities may confirm with the Overseas Community Affairs Council if necessary.

本條例第四條第三項所稱取得華僑身分者，係指取得僑務委員會核發之華僑身分證明書者。
香港或澳門居民主張其已取得前項華僑身分者，應提出前項華僑身分證明書，必要時，相關機關得向僑務委員會查證。
