Water Pollution Control Act Article 31
In one of the following circumstances, an enterprise or sewage system that discharges wastewater or sewage into a water body that has been delineated as a total quantity control water body shall install on its own an automatic monitoring system in order to monitor effluent water quality and water volume.I. Those circumstances in which the daily volume of wastewater or sewage discharges exceeds 1,000 cubic metersII. Those circumstances in which the special municipality, county or city competent authority has determined the enterprise or sewage system to be a major water pollution sourceRecords of the monitoring results and calibration of the monitoring instruments in the foregoing paragraph shall be maintained and reported to the special municipality, county and city competent authority or central competent authority in accordance with regulations.

事業或污水下水道系統，排放廢（污）水於劃定為總量管制之水體，有下列情形之一，應自行設置放流水水質水量自動監測系統，予以監測：
一、排放廢（污）水量每日超過一千立方公尺者。
二、經直轄巿、縣（巿）主管機關認定係重大水污染源者。
前項監測結果、監測儀器校正，應作成紀錄，並依規定向直轄巿、縣（巿）主管機關或中央主管機關申報。
