Organic Act of the Environmental Protection Administration, Executive Yuan Article 17-3
The EPA shall establish an Environmental Chief Inspection Team in order to strengthen oversight of implementation of environmental protection matters by special municipalities, counties, and cities; northern, central, and southern environmental inspection teams shall be established under the Chief Inspection Team.The Environmental Chief Inspection Team shall have one commander with a rank of selected appointment, 12th grade; two deputy commanders with a rank of selected appointment, 11th grade; northern, central, and southern environmental inspection teams shall each have one team leader with a rank of selected appointment, 10th grade.Personnel required by the Chief Inspection Team and regional inspection teams in the foregoing paragraph shall be assigned from within the staff specified in this Act.

本署為加強督導直轄市、縣（市）環境保護執行事項，設環境督察總隊，其下分設北、中、南三區環境督察大隊。
環境督察總隊置總隊長一人，職務列簡任第十二職等；副總隊長二人，職務列簡任第十一職等，北、中、南三區環境督察大隊各置大隊長一人，職務列簡任第十一職等；副大隊長一人，職務列簡任第十職等。
前項督察總隊及各區督察大隊所需工作人員，就本條例所定員額內派充之。
環境督察總隊置總隊長一人，職務列簡任第十二職等；副總隊長二人，職務列簡任第十一職等，北、中、南三區環境督察大隊各置大隊長一人，職務列簡任第十一職等；副大隊長一人，職務列簡任第十職等。
