Enforcement Rules of the Child and Juvenile Welfare and Rights Protection Act Article 9
The term “child(ren) with developmental delays,” as used in the Act, shall refer to children with suspected or prognosticated developmental abnormalities in aspects such as cognitive development, physiological development, language and communication development, sociopsychological development, or daily self-care, as certified, following the necessary assessment and confirmation, by a medical institution recognized by the Health Competent Authority.The interval for re-assessment of children with developmental delays shall be determined by professional physicians in accordance with the specific circumstances of each case.

本法所稱發展遲緩兒童，指在認知發展、生理發展、語言及溝通發展、心理社會發展或生活自理技能等方面，有疑似異常或可預期有發展異常情形，並經衛生主管機關認可之醫院評估確認，發給證明之兒童。
發展遲緩兒童再評估之時間，得由專業醫師視個案發展狀況建議之。
