Optometric Personnel Act Article 2
Those who have graduated from the optometry department of a public or registered private junior college or above, or an overseas junior college recognized by the Ministry of Education, completed an internship with satisfactory results, and obtained a graduation certificate may take the optician examination.Those who have graduated from the medical optic technique or optometry department of a public or registered private medical vocational school, or an overseas medical vocational school recognized by the Ministry of Education, completed an internship with satisfactory results, and obtained a graduation certificate may take the optical technician examination.

公立或立案之私立專科以上學校或符合教育部採認規定之國外專科以上學校驗光或視光系、科畢業，並經實習期滿成績及格，領有畢業證書者，得應驗光師考試。
公立或立案之私立高級醫事職業以上學校或符合教育部採認規定之國外高級醫事職業以上學校醫用光學技術、驗光、或視光系、科畢業，並經實習期滿成績及格，領有畢業證書者，得應驗光生考試。
