Public Assistance Act Article 18
In any of the following situations, relevant certificates shall be submitted to the competent authority at the locality of residence to apply for medical subsidies:1. Injury or illness of a low-income family member2. Serious injury or illness, for which the patient and the maintenance obligee can’t afford the medical expenses.Those who can get payment from the National Health Insurance may not claim medical subsidies according to the above paragraph.

具有下列情形之一者，得檢同有關證明，向戶籍所在地主管機關申請醫療補助：
一、低收入戶之傷、病患者。
二、患嚴重傷、病，所需醫療費用非其本人或扶養義務人所能負擔者。
參加全民健康保險可取得之醫療給付者，不得再依前項規定申請醫療補助。
