Regulations Governing the Exemption of the National Health Insurance Beneficiaries from the Co-Payment Article 3
The Insurer shall determine whether to issue the certificate of major illness and injury within 14 days after it accepts the application documents listed in the preceding article (excluding weekends and public holidays) and notify the applicant or his or her agent of the results.Where any supplementary document is required during the period stipulated in the preceding paragraph, the time for submitting the supplementary document may be excluded from the calculation of the deadline in the preceding paragraph.The certificate of major illness and injury shall be noted in the National Health Insurance card. Notwithstanding, if the item of major illness and injury is a disease set forth in Paragraph 6 of Appendix 1, the Insurer shall issue a written certificate.
