National Health Insurance Act Article 37
The Insurer may temporarily suspend benefits for those group insurance applicants or those beneficiary who have been proven to have the ability to pay the insurance premium and the belated surcharge through investigation and supervision but have chosen not to do so. However, such restrictions do not apply to the portion of the insurance premium payable withheld by or paid to the group insurance applicants, those approved by the Insurer as having to be paid in installments according to the preceding article, or the premium payable during the period the beneficiary is receiving protection under the Domestic Violence Prevention Act.The insurance premium during the temporary suspension of benefits shall still be collected.

保險人於投保單位或保險對象未繳清保險費及滯納金前，經查證及輔導後，得對有能力繳納，拒不繳納之保險對象暫行停止保險給付。
但被保險人應繳部分之保險費已由投保單位扣繳、已繳納於投保單位、經依前條規定經保險人核定其得分期繳納，或保險對象於依家庭暴力防治法之規定受保護期間時，不在此限。
前項暫行停止保險給付期間內之保險費仍應予計收。
