NHIA shall have one Director General whose rank is equivalent to senior appointment at the grade of thirteen (13) and two Deputy Directors General whose rank is equivalent to senior appointment at the grade of twelve (12).Both the above positions may be held by medical personnel whose rank is equivalent to Shih (1) grade according to the Medical Personnel Management Act.

本署置署長一人，職務比照簡任第十三職等；副署長二人，職務列簡任第十二職等。
